No One can Prepare you....

After months of waiting and waiting, the day had finally come! After very little sleep, I got up at 4 am to head to the airport. At this point, its still not a reality that I, Meghan Portal, is actually heading to Shanghai to live for 2 months. I laid with Izzie (my beautiful, spunky daughter aka puppy) and cried as I knew that I would have to be away from her for months. As she licked my tears I couldnt help but wonder who would do that in China? Its certainly not going to be a puppy, they prefer to eat DOG!
I finally broke away from her and headed to the airport. As what normally feels like a 15 minute drive, felt like an hour. I continued to cry and think about Anthony and Izzie, wondering if Izzie will sit in front of a webcam so I can see her. FINALLY, I got to the airport and checked in. Waiting for me was my partner in crime for the trip Lauren.
So the trip to China began....
So we jumped on the flight to San Fran. Lauren and I got to sit next to each other in a lovely emergency exit seat. WOW to all that space! We got to San Fran with no problem. We eagerly jumped off the plane to find out that our plane to Shanghai was delayed by 3 hours. This meant that we were going to be in the airport for 7 1/2 hours!
We waited and waited and waited to finally board and take off at 4:40 pm. Lauren gets to sit next to me again!
NO ONE, I MEAN NO ONE!!!! CAN PREPARE YOU FOR THE LONG LONG LONG LONG LONG LONG LONG LONG LONG FLIGHT TO CHINA! Did I mention that the flight was LONG!?!?!?! WIth the combination of BORING movies and lack of sleep, this trip never ended!!! OH, and every time I went to the bathroom, an old chinese man would skip me and jump in to the bathroom! Finally, I mean FINALLY we got to Shanghai at 8:40, making the trip 27 hours!
Disney English people were waiting for us and we jumped in a van and headed to the hotel. Finally a bed! Too bad I was too excited to really sleep.
